I have almost every Rome book published!
This one is a comprehensive guide of churches and holy sites throughout Rome. If you've never been,it's hard to imagine how many (400+) churches there are! Each one is a treasure,but most books only list a fraction of them.This is a great book to use while discovering Rome neighborhood by neighborhood. If you're traveling light,take Frommer's Rome and this book and you'll be in great shape.

Fodor's Holy Rome

Much Improved Guide/Picture Book
This Jubilee Edition of Art and History of Rome is much expanded and improved over the last one I bought eight years ago. There are many more pictures, although perforce smaller, and it's well organized by districtsof the city as well as the major section devoted to the beautifully spiffedup religious sites. They've taken a page from Dorling Kindersley's guidesby adding street-by-street views with little buildings drawn in. Also addedare detailed sidebars of relevant historical information to put the sightsin context. Overall, a very handsome and worthwhile book for prospective orrecent visitors to Rome. ... Read more
